Show Rules & Regulations


  1. Judging is relaxed and informal and based solely on the opinion of the nominated external, independent expert Show Judges. Their decision is final in all matters of judging.

  3. All produce must have been grown by the exhibitor. Pot plants must have been tended by the exhibitor for at least two months.
  4. All vegetables must be washed.  All brassicae must retain roots.
  5. Where indicated on the Schedule of Entries, leaves and stalks must be trimmed.
  6. No entries will be accepted on the day of the show.
  7. Exhibitors must stage their entries between 10:00 am and 11:15 am on the day of the show.
  8. All exhibitors must leave the hall by 11:30 am when judging takes place.
  9. The Show and Show Committee will not be held responsible for loss or damage to any exhibit.
  10. Entries must use the vases and paper plates provided.
  11. The committee will decide on any matter not covered by these Rules & Regulations.  Their decision is final.
  12. The donation of exhibits for auction by entrants is welcomed and appreciated with proceeds raised going to show funds.  The committee ensures a sufficient reserve to hold the show for at least the next two years.
  13. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to remove any entry they wish to keep promptly after the prize-giving.  An announcement will be made at the end of prize-giving following which any entries not re-claimed will be immediately entered for auction.
  14. The trophies awarded for Best Garden, Best Flower, Best Vegetable, and Best in Show must be returned to the Show Secretary, cleaned and polished for the next show.  All other awards may be retained by the winner.
  15. Points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each class as follows:
    • 1st place – 3 points
    • 2nd place –  2 points
    • 3rd place – 1 points

The award for best in Show will be made to the individual accumulating the most points.
